Myticas, LLC is currently seeking a Agile Coach for a contract position with our direct client based in North Chicago, IL (Remote During Covid-19).

Job Description: 

The EAS Agile Coach guides the organization and delivery teams as they transition from traditional work styles to Agile mindset, behaviors, practices and/or Agile frameworks, like Scrum and Kanban.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Able to transform teams from hybrid and waterfall software development practices to Scrum and Kanban where applicable.
  • Provide high-touch and hands-on team guidance, support, and coach in close cooperation/collaboration across all roles, and functions to facilitate increasing maturity at a sustainable pace.
  • Model the Scrum Master responsibilities as part of coaching new teams.
  • Provide coaching to Scrum Masters.
  • Develop content, lead workshops and training sessions to educate inpiduals and leaders on Agile values, principles, and practices.
  • Recommend, develop, track, and monitor Agile metrics on areas that affect value-driven delivery and indicate potential problems, and assist teams in implementing solutions to remediate those problems.
  • Encourage adoption of Agile practices to improve delivery, communication, and teaming skills.
  • Foster an environment of mutual respect, trust, collaboration, transparency, autonomy, innovation and quality.
  • Generate new ideas, support change, encourage innovation, and help to creatively solve problems.
  • Provide courageous and sometimes challenging feedback to leadership in order to coach and help them find their way forward in the new way of working.
  • Guide and influence the creative process that inspires teams to embrace Agile frameworks.
  • Coach teams to assess, measure, document, and communicate progress against defined Agile transformation goals.

Required Qualifications:

Knowledge:

  • Deep understanding of Agile and Lean principles, along with the practical application of Scrum as a framework for working and Kanban as an approach to evolutionary change
  • Significant hands-on experience in at least one of the roles on an agile team (e.g. Scrum Master, Product Owner, Developer)
  • Demonstrated evidence of continuous learning mindset
  • Deep knowledge of multiple facilitation techniques
  • Extended track record of delivering training in a manner than ensures knowledge transfer
  • Demonstrable experience with a scaling framework.
  • Experience collecting, interpreting, and communicating team metrics depicting progress/maturity.

Skills:

  • You will regularly assess teams’ Agile maturity, which will inform your coaching and development approach for each team
  • You will bring your intellectual curiosity, love of learning new skills and capabilities, e.g., Agile principles and scrum values to influence change
  • You will share innovative and creative thinking in order to solve problems and get things done
  • You have a deep background in coaching and developing people and agile teams and in influencing behavior change towards constant improvement
  • You have an Agile leadership style: lead by example, role modeling situations and behaviors, challenge command and control behaviors, value the ideas and opinions of others. Ability to guide leaders and practitioners in fostering a learning and adaptive environment.
  • Experience with JIRA, Confluence, and MS Teams
  • Excellent communication and people-interaction skills

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience required

Required Experiences:

  • Previous Enterprise IT experience required
  • 7 years working in an agile environment required
  • 5 years coaching agile teams and Scrum Masters required
  • Leadership facilitation experience preferred

Licenses:

  • Scrum Master Certification – either CSM, or PSM I, or PMI-ACP required
  • Agile Coaching Certification required
  • Scrum Scaling Certification – either SPS (Nexus), or SAFe (SA or SPC) preferred
  • Advanced Scrum Master Certification: PSM II (Scrumorg) or A-CSM (Scrum Alliance) preferred
