Working Hours & Location
- Standard working hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:15 AM to 4:30 PM (Alberta Time), with a one-hour lunch break. Provincial holidays are observed.
- The Information Officer must be flexible and available for potential 24/7 shift work, including days, evenings, weekends, provincial and federal holidays, and overnight shifts as needed.
- Location: Terrace Building (Onsite role).
Job Description
The Information Officer is responsible for providing courteous, timely, and accurate information, as well as guidance and referrals, to callers and email inquiries regarding various programs. These interactions come from Albertans seeking information, problem resolution, and assistance in navigating government services.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure callers understand program requirements and information, empowering them to achieve their objectives whenever possible.
- Maintain professionalism when handling a wide range of caller issues and behaviors.
- Provide appropriate referrals to municipal, provincial, or federal government departments, agencies, associations, registries, courts, law enforcement, and legal counsel when inquiries fall outside the assigned program’s mandate.
- Log client interactions in ServiceNow for statistical and reporting purposes.
- Adapt to frequent program changes, demonstrating agility in a dynamic and evolving environment.
