Job Summary:
The IT Disaster Recovery Systems Analyst/Engineer is responsible for supporting the client’s IT business continuity and disaster recovery (BC/DR) readiness initiatives. This includes collaborating with system owners, vendors, and infrastructure teams to ensure critical systems have viable recovery strategies. The ideal candidate will be a technical subject matter expert (SME) with exceptional communication and planning skills.
In this role, you will provide advice, assistance, and leadership in planning, procurement, delivery, and management of IT business continuity planning (IT BCP) and disaster recovery. You will meticulously oversee all phases of disaster recovery, including technical recovery and client coordination, ensuring a seamless response in the event of an invocation.
Responsibilities:
- Consult with individual departments to identify needs, gather information, and analyze data to assist in the development of IT disaster recovery plans and associated testing.
- Build business relationships and integrate activities with other Business Technology Organizations (BTOs) to ensure the successful implementation and support of IT BCP and disaster recovery initiatives.
- Serve as the subject matter expert, providing consulting support to Division IT teams and end-user organizations for IT business continuity and disaster recovery.
- Educate system owners on IT BCP, recovery options, and their roles/responsibilities related to application criticality and disaster recovery.
- Assist in creating project plans, documents, and presentations related to resiliency planning and disaster recovery.
- Design processes, procedures, documentation, and methods for continuous improvement.
Support all aspects of disaster recovery readiness for business-critical applications, including:

Coordinating post-exercise issue mitigation and follow-up.

Supporting and assisting in enterprise disaster recovery exercises and invocations.

Conducting proof-of-concept testing for new provisions or system fixes.

Managing disaster recovery efforts during site outages or IT crisis events (tabletop exercises and real-world scenarios).

Creating and maintaining DR documentation for critical systems, ensuring immediate usability and conducting annual end-to-end testing of recoverability.

Maintaining documentation on test results to track continuous improvement and updating stakeholders as necessary.

Leading post-recovery test reviews and assigning remediation tasks to enhance the program.

Create concise, accurate, and timely reports identifying gaps and proposing process improvements.

Stay updated on current legal and compliance requirements related to business continuity and apply principles to maintain compliance.

Provide off-hours support as required for recovery exercises or actual invocations.

Offer consultation on IT BCP issue management and resolution activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Telecommunications, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Extensive IT business continuity and disaster recovery experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of IT experience within an enterprise environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities concurrently.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Highly effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Expertise in infrastructure disciplines and technologies.
- Experience with AWS cloud solutions.
- Familiarity with enterprise technologies, including servers, backups, virtualization, SAN, firewalls, VPNs, and load balancers.
- Experience with ServiceNow is preferred.
- Knowledge of Fusion Risk Management (SaaS solution) or Salesforce.com technologies is a plus.
- Business continuity certifications (CBCI, CBCP, EDRP) are highly desired.
