Senior Solution Architect – Loyalty & Referral Implementation
Location: Toronto, ON preferred; remote considered for exceptional Loyalty Management expertise

Rate: $80-90 USD/hour
Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Solution Architect with deep, hands-on experience in Salesforce Loyalty Management to lead the architecture and implementation strategy for a major Loyalty & Referral initiative.
The successful candidate will bring strong expertise in Loyalty Management, Data Processing Engine (DPE), enterprise integrations, and solution architecture. This role will define the end-to-end technical architecture for Phase 1 while establishing scalable design patterns and a technical foundation for future phases.
The ideal candidate combines strong architectural leadership with practical implementation experience and can translate complex business requirements into secure, scalable, and high-performing technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Architecture
- Lead the end-to-end architecture and solution blueprint for Phase 1 of the Loyalty & Referral platform.
- Establish reusable architecture patterns and technical foundations for Phase 2 and future enhancements.
- Define solution components, integration patterns, data flows, and technical dependencies across the ecosystem.
- Ensure the architecture supports scalability, performance, maintainability, and extensibility.
Loyalty & Data Processing
- Design and guide implementation of Loyalty Management capabilities supporting customer rewards and referral programs.
- Define data processing and integration patterns for:
- Loyalty accrual and redemption
- Customer and member eligibility
- Tier/status management
- Reward tracking
- Referral triggers and incentives
- Customer engagement events
- Leverage Data Processing Engine (DPE) capabilities for high-volume, rules-based event and loyalty processing.
- Define approaches for real-time and batch processing as required by business use cases.
Integration & Technical Design
- Architect integrations between the loyalty platform and BMO’s core banking, wealth management, and online brokerage ecosystems.
- Define API, event-driven, and data integration patterns using technologies such as REST APIs, Kafka, MQ, microservices, and cloud/data platforms.
- Ensure reliable, secure, and scalable movement of customer, transaction, loyalty, and referral data.
- Establish integration standards and technical design principles for downstream engineering teams.
Stakeholder & Technical Leadership
- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, product owners, engineering teams, enterprise architects, and technical leads.
- Translate business and functional requirements into clear technical architecture and implementation blueprints.
- Lead architecture discussions, design reviews, and technical decision-making.
- Provide guidance to development and integration teams throughout the engagement.
Governance, Security & Compliance
- Ensure solution designs align with enterprise architecture, security, privacy, and compliance requirements.
- Identify architectural risks, dependencies, and constraints and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Maintain technical documentation, architecture decisions, integration specifications, and solution standards.
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on Salesforce Loyalty Management experience is mandatory.
- Proven experience designing, implementing, or architecting enterprise-level Loyalty and Referral solutions.
- Strong hands-on experience with Data Processing Engine (DPE); DPE architecture and implementation experience is highly preferred.
- 8+ years of Solution Architecture experience, preferably within banking, wealth management, financial services, or another highly regulated enterprise environment.
- Strong understanding of:
- RESTful APIs
- Event-driven architecture
- Kafka and/or MQ
- Microservices
- Cloud architectures
- Enterprise data architectures
- Real-time and batch data processing
- Demonstrated ability to convert complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and technical leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Salesforce Loyalty Management and Data Processing Engine in production environments.
- Previous experience supporting wealth management, investment management, or online brokerage platforms.
- Experience with financial-services customer engagement, rewards, referral, or incentive programs.
- Prior exposure to BMO InvestorLine or similar investment/wealth platforms.
- Toronto-area presence and ability to support approximately 20% on-site collaboration.
- Deep Loyalty Management expertise will take priority over location.
