Senior Project Manager – Hybrid
Location: Worcester, MA
Duration: 6+ Month Contract (Possible Extension)
Position Overview:
Myticas' direct client is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead multiple IT initiatives in a hybrid work environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in project management, particularly in delivering Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) projects, and be comfortable managing cross-functional teams and complex project dynamics.
Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems/Computer Science, or a related discipline

5-10 years of experience in project management

Proven experience managing SDLC projects

Proficient in Microsoft Project, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
Preferred Qualifications:

PMP Certification

Experience with Project Portfolio Management (PPM) tools

Experience in the pharmaceutical industry

Experience managing projects involving the delivery or enhancement of validated systems

Job Summary:
The Senior Project Manager will develop, execute, and manage multiple IT projects within defined scopes. They will lead project activities throughout the full lifecycle, collaborating with sponsors, key stakeholders, team members, and management. Responsibilities include creating and managing work breakdown structures, milestones, risks, issues, and deliverables. The Senior Project Manager will ensure project success while balancing resource and budget constraints and maintaining clear, transparent reporting.
Responsibilities:
Initiation and Planning:

Collaborate with business and IT leadership to define project goals, objectives, financials, and deliverables

Develop project plans and resource requirements to achieve scope
Project Control:

Evaluate how changes to scope, risks, and issues impact the project

Partner with business and IT leadership to resolve issues and mitigate risks

Monitor project performance against original plan and budget
Execution and Closure:

Execute detailed work plans using authorized resources

Lead project teams to deliver agreed-upon scope

Facilitate lessons-learned sessions and secure final project approval from sponsors and stakeholders
Project Communication:

Prepare and deliver project reports, providing timely and accurate updates on project status, risks, and decision points

Provide recommendations to resolve issues and manage risks based on current project status
Resource and Team Management:

Coordinate resources to ensure project requirements are met

Assign tasks and deliverables based on team member capabilities

Motivate and guide project teams to achieve desired outcomes
Quality Management:

Ensure adherence to relevant corporate and functional policies and procedures
Decision-Making:

Make project-level decisions, including those affecting project scope, schedule, and budget

Influence or exercise final decision authority on project budget matters
Financial Management:

Develop and manage multi-million-dollar project budgets

Track actual expenditures and accruals, providing regular forecasts (at least monthly)

Work closely with vendors to manage estimates and invoices, maintaining spending within ±10% of the overall project budget
