Myticas' direct client, based in Lansing, MI, is seeking a Cloud Architect to work on a hybrid schedule in Lansing, MI (on-site 2 days per week).

Please Note:

  • Position Location: Lansing, MI. The resource will follow a hybrid schedule and must be on-site from day one, two days a week (typically Tuesdays and Wednesdays).
  • Local candidates are strongly preferred, but non-local candidates may apply if willing to relocate at their own expense and adhere to the hybrid schedule without delays.

Top Required Skills & Years of Experience:

  • Experience: 5+ years in the field.
  • Strong expertise in .NET, HTML, XML, SQL, SOAP, REST, PowerShell, IaC, Microsoft Azure, and Function Apps.
  • Hands-on experience writing and implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Azure, web-based systems, and client-server-based architecture.

Preferred Skills:

  • Ability to conduct interviews and build effective relationships with system users.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Visio and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
  • Experience in analyzing, designing, programming, testing, implementing, and supporting web-based applications on the Microsoft/Windows platform (e.g., ASP.NET framework 4.8 or higher, .NET 6 or higher).

Job Summary:

The Cloud Application Architect will serve as a technical expert for the Michigan Center for Educational Performance and Information (CEPI). This role involves designing and orchestrating the placement and interaction of application components to meet business requirements while balancing factors such as sustainability, cost control, standardization, security, compliance, and strategic alignment.

This position will focus on IT system modernization initiatives within the CEPI portfolio and ensure seamless integration of the CEPI Cloud infrastructure with COTS packages, SaaS, Web Services, and other federal, state, and local government applications and services (both internal and external to the State).

The Cloud Architect will provide technical expertise and leadership to the application development team, promoting usability, security, mobility, maintainability, and reusability. This role requires minimal supervision and involves significant collaboration with program managers and technology oversight groups. The architect will work as part of a team of architects/designers, supported by additional staff.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and application of technical architecture strategies.
  • Analyze technical and business problems and recommend solutions to improve processes and enable productivity.
  • Collaborate with other architects and developers to select and adapt cloud architecture frameworks and tools to project needs.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • In-depth knowledge of complex cloud application development environments and practices.
  • Ability to gather and analyze facts, define problems, and recommend solutions.
  • Thorough understanding of cloud application development architecture, frameworks, and tools.
  • Advanced knowledge of business requirements, network-based application orchestration, database management, and application development.
  • Expertise in advanced cloud application development and integration techniques.
  • Strong proficiency in .NET, HTML, XML, SQL, SOAP, REST, PowerShell, IaC, Microsoft Azure, and Function Apps.
  • Knowledge of secure coding and authorization concepts, relational database principles, web services, and microservices architecture.
  • Experience with distributed tracing and observability.
  • Proficient in creating and maintaining distributed applications using microservices.
  • Excellent technical documentation and presentation skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities in high-stress environments.
  • Self-motivated, capable of managing tasks independently with minimal supervision.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Knowledge/training in object-oriented analysis, design, and programming.
  • Familiarity with cloud application and database development methods.
  • Ability to prepare detailed instructions and documentation.
  • Capacity to establish and maintain effective relationships with clients and support teams.
