Senior Windows System Administrator
Location: Lansing, MI (Hybrid – On-site Tuesday and Wednesday)

Work Schedule: Hybrid (On-site two days per week – Tuesday and Wednesday)

Position Summary:
Our direct client in Lansing, MI, is seeking a Senior Windows System Administrator to join their team on a hybrid basis. This role requires a highly skilled and experienced professional to perform a wide range of system administration tasks, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and security of systems and application components across both Windows and Linux environments.
The ideal candidate will collaborate with vendors, customers, and internal technical teams to ensure secure and reliable operation of applications and infrastructure. The position will also support various COTS and SaaS applications, configure changes as needed, and maintain compliance with Federal, State, and industry security standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Install and configure systems and application components in Windows and Linux environments.

Gather and document requirements; research, analyze, and present solution options for both ongoing application changes and new initiatives.

Ensure security and compliance of applications and infrastructure in accordance with Federal, State, and industry standards.

Collaborate with vendors, customers, and technical teams to implement projects and changes in a timely manner.

Maintain and support COTS applications and assist in configuring changes for SaaS products.

Remediate vulnerabilities and provide proactive monitoring and maintenance for systems and networks.

Create architectural diagrams and documentation to support application and infrastructure initiatives.
Required Skills and Experience:
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in:

Installing and configuring systems and application components on Windows and Linux environments.

Gathering and documenting requirements; analyzing and recommending solutions for application and infrastructure improvements.

Using the following tools and technologies:

Windows Server Administration (2016 and later)

Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7.0 and above

Cloud Infrastructure: Azure, AWS, or GCP

Tomcat, IIS

Microsoft SQL Management Studio

Dynatrace or similar debugging tools

XML, PowerShell, Azure DevOps, Visio

Single Sign-On (SSO) protocols: SAML, OAuth, OpenID

Network knowledge: LAN/WAN, architecture, firewalls, IoT
Performing analytical tasks with extensive experience in monitoring and supporting Windows and Linux operating systems, networks, firewalls, and architecture.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in:

Implementing and configuring applications in Azure Cloud infrastructure.

Proficiency in Azure services, containerization, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

This is a hybrid role requiring on-site work in Lansing, MI, two days per week (Tuesday and Wednesday).
