Our Ottawa-based client is seeking an experienced Network Engineer Specialist to play a key role within their operational team. The Consultant will focus on evergreening and operational support under the guidance of the Assistant Director, Network and Storage Services. This HYBRID ROLE requires a valid Government of Canada SECRET CLEARANCE.
Responsibilities:
- Resolve complex cross-functional technical issues in a timely manner.
- Participate in planning and executing tests related to production deployment validation, performance, failover, vulnerability remediation, and disaster recovery.
- Analyze the current solutions environment to identify deficiencies and opportunities for simplification as part of continuous improvement and evergreening activities.
- Define and implement upgrades or changes to address operational problems or meet new business requirements.
- Support problem troubleshooting in both production and non-production environments.
- Perform other related activities and deliverables as required.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in testing, operation, development, or integration within network management environments.
- Extensive experience with network equipment, particularly Cisco switching and routing platforms (Cisco 9K, 9300s, 6508, and APIC).
- Proven knowledge and experience in IT operations, including operational capabilities and challenges.
- Demonstrated ability to support the development process (continuous integration and deployment) from concept to implementation.
- Experience with scalable and highly available service-oriented architectures.
- Familiarity with Agile methodology.
Additional Considerations:
- Experience with Cisco NCS 5500.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow.
- Experience with F5 Load Balancers.
- Knowledge of Cisco ASA and/or Firepower Technologies.
