The Myticas team is seeking a Network Operations Engineer. This role is responsible for monitoring and supporting our client’s network, including fiber, wireless, and market data circuits, along with associated services. Key duties include interfacing with the Tier 1 NOC, managing escalations from engineering, sales, and product development, and sending maintenance notices to customers. This role is a hybrid-remote role and candidates must be local to Chicago, IL.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and turn-up of on-network and Type II products and services.
  • Install, upgrade, and maintain RF, Fiber, and Market Data infrastructure.
  • Respond to Tier 1 and Tier 2 customer NOC requests via email and phone.
  • Conduct correlation analysis on network events and determine root causes.
  • Configure and manage Network Monitoring Applications (PRTG, Icinga, Grafana).
  • Maintain Market Data and Optical networks, monitoring performance levels.
  • Perform network verification testing and packet capture using Viavi/JDSU, XENA Networks, and internal applications.
  • Maintain the monitoring network.

Qualifications:

  • BS in Telecommunications, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in a large enterprise or carrier environment.
  • Strong leadership and analytical skills with the ability to work in a diverse team.
  • Knowledge of configuring routers, VPNs, and networking protocols.
  • Proficiency in managing optical network equipment (e.g., Ciena, Adva) and routers (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Arista).
  • Understanding of the OSI stack, routing protocols, and RF/Optical equipment.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
