Our client in the health care space is looking for a Plant Engineering / Automation Lead to support a critical Operational Technology (OT) Migration Project. This role focuses on overseeing the migration of plant systems and shop floor networks, coordinating suppliers, and ensuring quality and compliance in a GMP-regulated environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee OT migration of approximately 30 systems, including implementing a new shop floor network and expanding the Local Computer Room (LCR).
  • Engage and coordinate with multiple system and application suppliers for seamless migration.
  • Define scope of services for migration of shop floor systems to new infrastructure.
  • Participate in design reviews for systems such as Rockwell & Delta.
  • Supervise and verify supplier milestone completions for system migrations.
  • Collaborate with the Quality/Change Control team to ensure compliance and alignment with GMP regulations.
  • Plan and coordinate application migration in alignment with the plant’s production outage schedule.
  • Assist in planning and executing the shop floor network upgrade and LCR expansion.
  • Participate in shop floor network segmentation and VLAN discussions.
  • Coordinate with infrastructure, cyber security, and supplier teams to ensure network and LCR installation.
  • Assist in procurement for infrastructure assets, such as racks and enclosures.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience: 10+ years in plant system implementation and OT within a production facility, preferably in a life sciences manufacturing or vaccine production environment.
  • In-depth understanding of Shop Floor Networking, process control/automation, and GMP-regulated manufacturing systems.
  • Automation/Control Technologies: Proficient with PLC, SCADA/HMI, Building Management Systems (BMS), and Process Data Historians.
  • Familiarity with plant system suppliers such as Rockwell FactoryTalk/Plant PAx, Aveva PI, and Delta BMS.
  • Strong coordination skills with a track record of managing multiple suppliers and maintaining compliance with quality standards.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
