We are seeking experienced Technical Writers to join our team in support of a Federal Government project in Ottawa. The successful candidates will be responsible for creating clear, comprehensive, and accurate documentation to facilitate project objectives and support Request for Proposal (RFP) processes.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Requirements Gathering
    Collaborate with stakeholders to gather business requirements and translate them into Statements of Work (SOW) for RFP creation.

  2. Documentation Review
    Evaluate existing project documentation to ensure consistency, accuracy, and alignment with established standards.

  3. Needs Assessment
    Identify documentation requirements and develop effective plans to address them.

  4. Audience Analysis
    Analyze the target audience for each document and prepare a statement of purpose and scope to ensure relevance and clarity.

  5. Information Verification
    Validate the accuracy of collected information by engaging directly with subject matter experts and project materials.

  6. Visual Aids Preparation
    Create or coordinate illustrations, diagrams, and visual aids to enhance document clarity and comprehension.

  7. Document Design
    Design document layouts to ensure readability and adherence to formatting standards.

  8. Content Production
    Utilize word-processing, desktop publishing, and graphics software to produce final, camera-ready documents.


Qualifications:

  • Experience: Proven experience as a Technical Writer, preferably in government or large-scale projects.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in word-processing, desktop publishing, and graphics software packages.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to assess audience needs and tailor documentation accordingly.
  • Attention to Detail: Demonstrated focus on accuracy, consistency, and adherence to documentation standards.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Security Clearance: Must possess a Government of Canada Reliability clearance.
