Myticas's direct client is currently seeking a Sr. Platform Engineer (EKS/Kubernetes/DevOps) for a 100% Remote contract position.
Location: 100% REMOTE
Duration: 6 Months+ Contract-to-Hire
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Platform Engineer to support a cloud-native environment, with strong hands-on experience in AWS EKS and Kubernetes. The ideal candidate will have at least 3+ years of direct experience working in EKS-based production environments and be comfortable operating independently in complex systems. This role requires deep expertise in Kubernetes, service mesh technologies (preferably Istio), and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred).
The engineer will work across infrastructure and application layers, supporting deployment, scaling, and reliability of platform services. A strong DevOps background is essential, including experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation, and troubleshooting across distributed systems. This is a hands-on role requiring ownership, problem-solving, and the ability to manage and optimize modern cloud infrastructure.
We are looking for a hands-on senior engineer to support a cloud-native platform environment.
Required Skills/Experience/Qualifications:
- 3+ years hands-on experience with AWS EKS
- Strong experience with Kubernetes in production environments
- Experience with Istio (or similar service mesh)
- Strong Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred)
- Experience in DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
- Ability to work across infrastructure + application layers (full stack mindset)
What They Will Be Doing:
- Supporting and maintaining EKS-based platform environments
- Managing and optimizing Kubernetes workloads
- Working with service mesh (Istio) for traffic management, observability, and security
- Implementing and maintaining IaC pipelines
- Partnering with engineering teams to support deployment, scaling, and reliability
- Troubleshooting production issues across infra + app layers
