Our Toronto based client is seeking a Microsoft Purview Specialist (Manager level)  for remote contract opportunity to support the implementation of Microsoft Purview as part of a data governance, security, and compliance initiative.

The project will establish a unified data governance framework, including sensitive data identification and classification, implementation of protection controls, and enhanced visibility into data usage and risk across the organization. The initiative will support regulatory compliance, reduce data-related risk, and enable audit-ready reporting aligned with enterprise security and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead implementation of Microsoft Purview across governance and compliance domains

  • Identify and classify sensitive data assets

  • Design and implement Data Loss Prevention (DLP) controls

  • Support Information Rights Management (IRM) configuration and strategy

  • Facilitate working sessions and stakeholder workshops

  • Deliver executive-ready reports and client presentations

  • Align Purview configuration with regulatory and compliance requirements

  • Provide governance documentation and audit-ready reporting artifacts

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong hands-on expertise with Microsoft Purview

  • Experience implementing Data Loss Prevention (DLP) solutions

  • Experience with Information Rights Management (IRM)

  • Project Management experience (Manager-level delivery leadership)

  • Strong report writing and documentation skills

  • Experience facilitating workshops and presenting to senior stakeholders

  • Ability to align technical implementation with regulatory/compliance objectives
