Platform Engineer – Azure
Azure Platform Engineer
Role summary
Implement and validate secure, scalable Azure platform environments based on approved architecture and requirements. Work collaboratively with architects, delivery leads, and application teams to deploy infrastructure, support integrations, resolve issues, and document completed work.
Responsibilities
- Build and configure Azure landing zones and supporting infrastructure using infrastructure as code and established deployment practices.
- Implement platform components for networking, private connectivity, identity and access, storage, key management, monitoring, logging, and policy.
- Apply and validate governance controls, including Azure Policy and role-based access.
- Develop and maintain deployment pipelines, configuration, and automation.
- Validate deployments, investigate issues, and document results and configuration evidence.
- Support application teams with platform integration and environment-specific configuration.
- Maintain technical documentation and contribute to operational handoff materials.
- Identify technical risks, dependencies, and implementation estimates.
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience implementing Azure infrastructure and cloud platform services.
- Understanding of Azure landing-zone concepts, including subscription structure, management groups, governance guardrails, and policy controls.
- Experience with infrastructure as code, such as Bicep or Terraform, and source control.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps or similar CI/CD tooling.
- Knowledge of Azure networking, private endpoints, identity and access management, storage, key management, Azure Policy, and monitoring.
- Experience with Azure CLI and scripting tools such as PowerShell or Bash.
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and collaboration skills.
- Experience in regulated or security-conscious environments is an asset.
