SAP Data Migration Lead

Our non for profit client is seeking a senior SAP Data Migration Analyst to support a large-scale SAP ECC to S/4HANA (Brownfield) transformation. This role will focus on the pre-work (Prepare & Explore) phases, driving data readiness, governance, and migration planning.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Migration Strategy & Governance
- Define and execute data migration strategy for brownfield conversion
- Establish governance, quality gates, and acceptance criteria
- Support data retention, archiving, and conversion principles
Data Scope & Object Management
- Identify and confirm in-scope data objects (master, transactional, configuration)
- Align data ownership and validation accountability across teams
- Manage dependencies across workstreams (integration, CVI, custom code, etc.)
Data Profiling & Readiness
- Lead data profiling and quality assessments in ECC
- Identify data issues (duplicates, inconsistencies, obsolete records)
- Coordinate data cleansing with business and functional teams
- Ensure data readiness for migration
Key Deliverables:
- Data Migration Strategy & Plan
- Data Object Inventory & Ownership Matrix
- Data Readiness & Cleansing Reports
- Conversion Runbooks & Validation Scripts
- Reconciliation & Sign-off Documentation
- Go-Live Data Validation Report
Required Experience:
- 8+ years SAP experience, including ECC to S/4HANA conversions
- Proven leadership in data migration workstreams (brownfield)
- Full-cycle SAP data migration delivery experience
- Strong experience with SAP Activate and migration tools
Technical Skills:
- Deep understanding of SAP data models (ECC vs S/4HANA)
- Experience across modules: FI/CO, MM, SD, PP, WM, HCM
- Knowledge of simplification items and custom (Z) data conversion
- Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, and archiving
Soft Skills:
- Strong stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation
- Ability to translate technical data issues into business impact
- Solid problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills
- Experience in Agile and/or Waterfall environments
