Senior Fluent Commerce OMS Developer (Remote – Europe)

Location: Remote (Europe)
Type: Independent Contract (6 Months + Extension)
Start: ASAP
Desired Rate: €38.25 – €51.00 per hour (depending on experience)
Working Hours: Full-time aligned to European business hours

• United Kingdom (BST): 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM

We are seeking experienced Senior Fluent Commerce OMS Developers to join a large-scale retail transformation project supporting a global retail organization. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a modern Order Management System (OMS) platform, delivering enterprise-scale integrations, backend development, and event-driven solutions within a fast-paced Agile environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise-grade Fluent Commerce OMS solutions.
• Build custom business rules, webhooks, listeners, and integrations using Fluent Commerce SDKs.
• Develop scalable backend services using Java (8+) and modern API technologies.
• Design and implement REST and GraphQL integrations with enterprise applications.
• Integrate Fluent Commerce with POS, ERP, WMS, eCommerce, and other retail platforms.
• Lead technical design discussions and contribute to solution architecture.
• Produce clean, maintainable, well-tested code following SOLID principles and best practices.
• Perform code reviews and mentor other developers.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and deployment activities using GitLab.
• Assist with production releases, cutovers, and post-production stabilization.
• Monitor application health, troubleshoot production issues, and perform root cause analysis.
• Collaborate closely with architects, product owners, QA, and business stakeholders.
• Drive technical quality, performance, scalability, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Experience

• 5+ years of software development experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on Fluent Commerce OMS development experience.
• Strong technical and functional knowledge of the Fluent Commerce platform.
• Experience with:
  • Rules SDK
  • OMX SDK
  • Integrate SDK
  • Connect SDK
• Experience developing:
  • Custom Rules
  • Webhooks
  • Event Listeners
  • Platform Integrations
• Strong Java (Java 8+) development experience.
• Strong GraphQL and REST API development experience.
• Experience with event-driven architectures and enterprise system integrations.
• Experience using GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
• Production deployment, monitoring, incident management, and post-production support experience.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Self-driven with the ability to take ownership of technical solutions.

Nice to Have

• AWS Cloud experience.
• MuleSoft or other Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) experience.
• Retail or Order Management System implementation experience.
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum delivery teams.
