Our client, a leading Canadian financial institution, is seeking a Senior Network Support Specialist to join its Network & Network Security Services team.
This long-term engagement is ideal for an experienced network infrastructure professional with expertise in enterprise Cisco networking, Azure Cloud Networking, operational support, and infrastructure modernization. The successful consultant will help maintain, optimize, and enhance a highly available enterprise network environment while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Assistant Director, Network & Network Security Services, you will:
- Provide operational support for enterprise network infrastructure and evergreening initiatives
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex cross-functional network issues
- Participate in production deployment validation, performance testing, failover testing, disaster recovery, and infrastructure upgrades
- Analyze existing network environments to identify opportunities for optimization and simplification
- Implement network upgrades and infrastructure improvements to address operational requirements and evolving business needs
- Support troubleshooting activities across production and non-production environments
- Participate in continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives
- Contribute to infrastructure modernization and automation efforts
- Perform additional network support activities as required
Required Qualifications
- University degree or College diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline
- Minimum 5 years of recent experience in one or more of:
- Network Operations
- Network Support
- Network Development
- Network Integration
- Network Testing
- Minimum 5 years working with Cisco networking technologies including:
- Cisco Nexus 9000 Series
- Cisco Catalyst 9300 Series
- Cisco 6508
- Cisco APIC (Application Policy Infrastructure Controller)
- Demonstrated experience with Azure Cloud Networking
- Strong understanding of enterprise IT Operations
- Experience supporting CI/CD processes throughout the development lifecycle
- Experience supporting scalable, highly available enterprise network architectures
- Experience working within Agile environments

Mandatory Requirements
Candidates must:
- Be eligible to obtain Bank of Canada Secret Security Clearance
- Have resided in Canada for a minimum of 5 years
- Possess excellent communication skills
- Be comfortable working within a collaborative enterprise environment
Candidates must also have:
- Windows 11 laptop/desktop capable of connecting through Azure Virtual Desktop
- Smartphone capable of running Microsoft Authenticator
