SOLUTION ARCHITECT / TECHNICAL ARCHITECT
Banking SaaS | Product & Pricing | Integration | Enterprise Architecture
Primary Focus: Owns solution design for complex implementation areas and bridges business, banking domain, platform, engineering, integration, data, cloud, and client technology teams.
THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a senior Solution Architect / Technical Architect with strong experience delivering complex enterprise SaaS solutions within Banking, Financial Services, or FinTech environments.
This is a highly client-facing architecture role responsible for translating complex banking, product, pricing, billing, integration, data, security, and operational requirements into scalable, secure, maintainable, and executable solution designs.
The successful candidate will own architecture across areas such as:
- Banking products and product configuration
- Pricing, rates, fees, discounts, waivers, and offers
- Billing and downstream financial processing
- Customer/account relationships and relationship-based pricing
- Eligibility, workflows, approvals, and audit trails
- APIs, integrations, data flows, and enterprise systems
- Security, cloud, scalability, performance, and operational readiness
You will work directly with client business and technology stakeholders, Product Management, Engineering, Technical Consultants, Software Engineers, QA, DevOps, Security, Cloud, and implementation teams.
A major part of the role is determining how client requirements can be met through standard platform capabilities and configuration, while identifying where extension, integration, transformation, or product enhancement may be required.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Solution Architecture & Design
- Own end-to-end solution architecture for assigned client implementations, modules, and workstreams.
- Translate complex banking and technology requirements into practical, scalable solution designs.
- Architect solutions covering products, pricing, rates, fees, billing, offers, eligibility, relationship pricing, exception pricing, workflows, approvals, auditability, integrations, reporting, and operational processes.
- Determine when requirements should be addressed through standard platform functionality, configuration, extension, integration, data transformation, or customization.
- Maximize standard platform capabilities and minimize unnecessary customization and technical debt.
- Produce solution architecture documents, technical designs, process flows, integration diagrams, data-flow diagrams, configuration approaches, and architecture decision records.
- Ensure designs are secure, scalable, reusable, performant, auditable, supportable, and maintainable.
Banking & Financial Services Architecture
- Apply strong knowledge of banking products, pricing, fees, rates, billing, customer/account relationships, offers, discounts, waivers, approvals, and governance.
- Translate real-world banking requirements into appropriate platform and solution architectures.
- Ensure designs support financial accuracy, customer servicing, regulatory/audit requirements, downstream processing, and operational controls.
- Understand integration dependencies across core banking, CRM, digital banking/channels, general ledger, billing, workflow, data warehouse, analytics, and reporting platforms.
- Design solutions that enable business agility while reducing unnecessary dependency on core banking system changes.
Client-Facing Architecture Leadership
- Act as a trusted technical and solution advisor to client stakeholders.
- Lead solution workshops, discovery sessions, architecture discussions, design walkthroughs, integration sessions, and requirements validation.
- Present architecture options, trade-offs, constraints, assumptions, dependencies, risks, and recommendations.
- Translate technical concepts for business stakeholders and business requirements for technical delivery teams.
- Align stakeholders across business, technology, architecture, product, operations, security, risk, compliance, and delivery.
- Help clients understand the impact of architecture decisions on implementation effort, integration complexity, data, testing, scalability, deployment, and long-term maintainability.
Requirements & Fit-Gap Analysis
- Review complex business, functional, technical, integration, data, security, and operational requirements.
- Lead fit-gap assessments between client requirements and platform capabilities.
- Identify gaps, ambiguities, dependencies, constraints, assumptions, and architectural risks.
- Determine whether gaps require configuration, extension, integration, transformation, process change, customization, or product enhancement.
- Partner with Product Management and Engineering to assess product gaps and technical feasibility.
- Maintain traceability between requirements, architecture decisions, detailed designs, configuration, engineering, and testing.
Integration & Data Architecture
- Define integration architecture between the SaaS platform and client enterprise systems.
- Architect solutions involving REST APIs, services, microservices, batch processing, file interfaces, event-driven integrations, and enterprise data flows.
- Define interface contracts, validation rules, transformation logic, error handling, reconciliation, and monitoring requirements.
- Review data mappings, source-to-target specifications, interface designs, and integration patterns.
- Ensure integration architecture addresses volume, latency, scalability, availability, security, recoverability, traceability, and auditability.
- Support architecture for data migration, reference/master data, reconciliation, environment planning, and downstream validation.
Security, Cloud & Non-Functional Architecture
- Define and validate non-functional requirements including:
- Performance and scalability
- Availability and reliability
- Security and privacy
- Authentication and authorization
- Resilience and recoverability
- Logging and monitoring
- Auditability and traceability
- Maintainability and supportability
- Collaborate with Cloud, DevOps, Security, Infrastructure, Engineering, and Support teams.
- Ensure architecture supports production troubleshooting, monitoring, incident management, reconciliation, disaster recovery, and operational handover.
Technical Direction & Delivery Enablement
- Provide architectural direction to Technical Consultants, Software Engineers, Technical Leads, QA, DevOps, implementation teams, and client technical resources.
- Review and approve technical designs, configuration approaches, integration specifications, APIs, data mappings, test strategies, and deployment plans.
- Support backlog refinement, estimation, sequencing, dependency management, and technical impact analysis.
- Resolve architecture and design issues throughout implementation.
- Participate in complex defect and issue triage involving architecture, integration, data, performance, or platform behaviour.
- Ensure delivery teams understand both what needs to be implemented and the architectural reasoning behind the design.
Architecture Governance & Risk
- Establish architecture and solution-design governance across assigned implementation areas.
- Conduct design and architecture reviews.
- Identify technical, functional, integration, data, security, performance, operational, and delivery risks early.
- Define mitigation strategies and escalate significant risks with clear impact analysis and recommendations.
- Ensure critical banking functionality—including pricing, fee calculations, rate changes, billing outputs, pricing exceptions, approvals, eligibility, audit trails, and reconciliation—receives appropriate architectural oversight.
- Support implementation checkpoints and go-live readiness assessments.
Product & Engineering Partnership
- Partner closely with Product Management, Engineering, Platform Architecture, and implementation leadership.
- Identify recurring client requirements that may warrant reusable platform capabilities or product enhancements.
- Distinguish legitimate product gaps from client-specific customization.
- Provide implementation feedback that helps influence platform and product evolution.
- Protect broader platform architecture and maintainability while meeting client requirements.
Mentorship & Architecture Practice
- Mentor Technical Consultants, Software Engineers, Team Leads, and other technical resources.
- Establish reusable architecture patterns, reference architectures, configuration standards, integration templates, and implementation playbooks.
- Promote architecture standards and knowledge sharing across implementation teams.
- Identify opportunities for standardization, reusable components, automation, tooling improvements, and reduced implementation risk.
